September 19, 2025

Halloween costumes welcome at our free Fall Festival at The Shops at Ithaca Mall – and don't forget a new toy to donate!

Mark your calendars, Ithaca families! Saturday, October 25th from 11 AM to 2 PM, we kick of the annual Cops, Kids & Toys holiday toy drive at The Shops at Ithaca Mall!

What's in store for your family?

  • Pumpkin painting to get those creative juices flowing
  • Cookie frosting station (because who doesn't love decorating cookies?)
  • Wear your costume - break out those Halloween outfits early!
  • Free coloring books, crayons, and meal vouchers courtesy of our friends at Texas Roadhouse

Our Cornell University Police and Cops, Kids & Toys volunteer team can't wait to spend the afternoon with you and your little ghouls and goblins. Plus, there's a chance to win a BIG pumpkin in our special raffle!

Here's the best part: This kicks off our holiday toy drive! Please bring a new toy to donate – your generosity helps ensure local children have a brighter holiday season.

Did you know that we also buy toys to supplement the toys that people donate? Your monetary donations help us to provide kids with gifts that reflect their preferences. Make a tax-deductible donation here: https://givebutter.com/CKTFallFest

The event is completely FREE and open to everyone in our community. No registration needed, just show up ready for fall fun!

Come join us Saturday, October 25th at The Shops at Ithaca Mall for an afternoon of family fun, community connection, and the start of something special for the holidays.

On Tuesday, March 10, 2026, Cops, Kids & Toys was proud to present a check to the Family Reading Partnership in support its important work and to assist with some unforeseen expenses as it continues to serve local children and families. Since 1997, Family Reading Partnership has helped Tompkins County families with young children experience the joy of books and read-aloud time as an everyday part of life. Family Reading Partnership provides programs and materials that encourage parents and caregivers to engage with infants and young children through reading, play, songs, and conversation, all as building blocks for literacy. It works to create a culture of literacy in the community by weaving books and reading encouragement into the networks and services that already reach local families. Their programs are designed especially for families with infants and young children in Tompkins County, helping children connect with books early and often. Their impact is rooted in a simple but powerful idea. When children grow up with books as part of everyday life, families are strengthened and young learners are better prepared to thrive. Family Reading Partnership describes its work as creating a culture of literacy, one book, one family, and one community at a time. Organizations like Family Reading Partnership help make Tompkins County a stronger, more connected community for children. We encourage our supporters to learn more about their work and consider making a donation to help them continue serving local families.
